1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. Although it might not have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still an excellent option when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is exceptionally soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great option for homes with many furniture pieces. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and features are among the best on the market - but it's also pricey.
It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's not able climb stairs as well as some competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that lets you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.
